The world entices us with its fashion, beauty, and youthful preservation. But striving after and focusing on these things is not what God wants for us. . .
So many things try to snatch our attention from the Lord. They could be worthwhile or necessary, but if they aren’t what God wants us to focus on, we need to ignore them. . .
What is your peace? Do you place peace in your work, accomplishments, talents, or money? These things can all become false idols, but Christ is the essence of peace. . .
Take inventory of your idols on a regular basis, rooting them out of your life just as you would dig up weeds from a garden. . .
You may be faithful in church and don’t openly worship anyone but God, but do you choose to entertain private idols when you think no one is looking?
