Absolute Trust

For indeed we have had the glad tidings [Gospel of God] proclaimed to us just as truly as they [the Israelites of old did when the good news of deliverance from bondage came to them]; but the message they heard did not benefit them, because it was not mixed with faith (with the leaning of the entire personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness) by those who heard it; neither were they united in faith with the ones [Joshua and Caleb] who heard (did believe).
Proverbs 16:31-33 Hebrews 4:2 AMPC

The writer of Hebrews made a clear distinction between believers of Christ, and those who have heard the truth but haven’t accepted it by living it out.

The passage above mentions that faith in God’s message not only encompasses our character but is something that unites us with fellow believers. As we depend more on God, we become more faithful. That takes lots of trust in His power, wisdom, goodness, and all the other innate qualities that exemplify who God is.

Do you have absolute trust in who God says He is? If you do, pray today that God would open the doors for you to share your faith with someone. As you do, trust that He’ll provide you with the words to speak.

Father, I want to live out my faith. Provide me with an opportunity to witness to someone so that I might share my trust and faith in You.
