Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by living a godly life. Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city. We may throw the dice, but the Lord determines how they fall.
Proverbs 16:31-33 NLT
God had a mighty calling on Ezekiel’s life—to influence the nation of Israel and its surrounding nations to come to a place of repentance and obedience to the Lord.
In today’s reading (Ezekiel 6-7), Ezekiel heard several messages from the Lord. It must have taken a lot of faith and trust for him to hear those words and obey God’s voice. People may have accepted, or rejected, what he spoke about during his ministry. Yet Ezekiel was faithful in doing what God called Him to do, throwing out his words of prophecy and letting the Lord determine how they fell.
When you don’t trust God, you may lack inner peace, have a tough time letting Him be in control, or struggle to live out your calling. But when you surrender to God, lean into Jesus and His perception of you, and allow the Spirit to control, your perspective will change as you live by faith in all you do.
Lord, may I come to trust and accept You and Your Word more and more. As I do so, may I have an inner peace and an acceptance of myself, seeing myself the way You do.
