When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man, that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
Psalm 8:3–4 NIV
Do you ever spend time thinking about the vastness of God? His greatness? His majesty? When you ponder His creation—the heavens, the moon, and the stars—do you feel tiny in comparison? Do you wonder how, in the midst of such greatness, He even remembers your name, let alone the details of your life or the problems you go through?
Daughter of God, you are important to your heavenly Father, more important than the sun, the moon, and the stars. You are created in the image of God, and He cares for you. In fact, He cares so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to offer His life as a sacrifice for your sins.
So the next time you look up at the heavens, the next time you ooh and aah over a majestic mountain or emerald waves crashing against the shoreline, remember that those things, in all of their splendor, don’t even come close to you. You are God’s greatest creation.
Oh Father, when I look at everything You have created, I’m so overwhelmed with who You are. Who am I that You would think twice about me? But You do. You love me in spite of all my flaws, and for that I’m eternally grateful!
