God Is Your Refuge

God, you’re my last chance of the day. I spend the night on my knees before you.
Psalm 88:1 MSG

The psalmist was in misery and cried out to God. He felt as though he were near death. Been there?

In one form or another, every woman experiences extreme despair in her life. It may be due to the loss of a loved one. You may find yourself abandoned by a family member, dealing with a chronic illness, or desperate over a prodigal child who makes one bad choice after another.

Whatever the cause of your heartache, if you have not yet been in the depths of despair, at some point in your life you will be. Human existence brings with it times that are simply unbearable on your own.

During such times, you must rely on God. You may not feel Him or sense His presence, but His Word declares that He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Talk to God first thing in the morning and just before your head hits the pillow at night. God is your refuge and your strong tower in times of trouble. A brighter day will come. Joy comes in the morning. Hold on tight to God. Find strength in knowing you are never, ever alone.

God, I find comfort in knowing You are always with me and will always see me through to the other side of sorrow. Amen.
