The Origins of the Earth

. . .children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
Philippians 2:15 NKJV

When you really get to talking with fellow students or coworkers, it is astonishing to discover how unbiblical ideas about the origins of the earth have taken deep root in our society.

Now, it is very important to be focused on showing Christ’s love rather than correcting every wrong idea held by others, yet drawing attention to the fact of God’s creative work is actually very significant.

Evolution is a complicated theory, but at its core is an unwillingness to acknowledge the sovereignty and authority of a Creator. Those who do not want to be subject to Him simply deny that He even exists and find another way to explain this world with its genetic complexities and majestic wonders.

Charles Darwin and others after him do not embrace the fact that humanity came into existence because of a loving God who gave us breath and free will and an eternal destiny. They cannot because it would cause their entire structure of thought to tumble. And today, there are generations of people who simply accept what they have been told. But we know the truth and are called to give witness to it. Not in a strident and rude manner but in a confident and peaceable way. Thus, this is the way we shine as lights, illuminating the truth.

Heavenly Father, let me always bear witness to Your creative work and glory. Amen.
