Rejoice

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!
Philippians 4:4 NLT

Do you ever feel like life is a fifty-pound backpack? Life can get heavy if we aren’t careful, with everyday worries wearing us down and making us exhausted. Even small decisions tend to grow in our minds to be more important than they really are. Big decisions can completely take us over so that even the most wonderful news becomes tainted.

Look away from the cares of this world and then rejoice in what the Lord has done! Instead of lending every thought to the troubles at hand, praise God for the ways He has provided in the past and doubtless will again in the future!

Begin to count your blessings, and then you will feel the weight lifting off your shoulders. Feel the freedom you have to enjoy your life. Enjoy your home and the comfort it brings. Enjoy your family, pets, and things you have. Allow yourself to fully feel the joy that comes with the first snow, the first warm breeze of spring, or the first rays of sun in the morning. There are so many wonderful things to enjoy even as you read this!

Life is complicated, yes. But it should never be allowed to rob you of the joy the Lord provides. “I say it again—rejoice!”

Lord, You are so good! Teach me Your ways and show me Your faithfulness, that I may be full of joy because of You. You created this earth to be enjoyed, and enjoy it I shall!
