Delegate

Paul and Barnabas stayed on in Antioch, teaching and preaching the Word of God. But they weren’t alone. There were a number of teachers and preachers at that time in Antioch.
Acts 15:35 MSG

Have you ever been part of a group that simply had “too many chiefs”? It’s hard enough when there are not enough leaders. It’s even harder when there are too many!

Paul and Barnabas had been spreading the Gospel. As a result, new leaders had grown out of this movement, many of whom were chosen by Paul and Barnabas to help handle the burgeoning workload of shepherding new believers.

If you are a leader in your church or in a ministry, then try to learn from Paul and Barnabas. Delegate to others. You do not need to be the only leader! In contrast, if you are working under a leader, consider ways in which you can grow and take on more responsibility to lessen your leader’s load.

Sharing the work of the Lord is a good practice. God established the church for this very reason. He also made the body of Christ one but made up of various parts. Each part been given different gifts and abilities. Determine your talents and how you can use them and your time for the Lord. And be sure to encourage all of those within your sphere of influence in all their endeavors.

Dear God, help me be a faithful follower, an effective encourager, and a loyal leader. In Jesus’ name, amen.
