God Fights for Us

“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
Exodus 14:14 NKJV

In this day and age when action is so heavily stressed, it is hard for us to wrap our heads around the thought of not acting. Is this truly what the Lord commands of us in times of struggle? Waiting on God’s will and timing is one of the hardest acts.

We must remember God’s might and power. He created the very atoms of the ground we tread, and if we are honest, there are many times we stomp around creating chaos in our lives when all we seek is order. The thought of ceasing from our plans and obeying God’s will is frightening. We have an idea of the road God wishes us to walk and it’s far outside our comfort zone. But then, think of the times we wrestled with His plan, gave in, and rejoiced in His work!

When God calls us to reach outside of ourselves and forgive or trust, it tears us from our selfish pride, rids us of embittered desires, and cleanses the channels of our hearts. We must trust that the most strenuous and arduous tasks God gives us will bear the most fruit and draw us closer to Him. To know that the God fights for us, undeserving sinners, leaves us astounded.

Father, thank You for listening to my prayers! Thank You for never forsaking me even in the fight. You are a great and gracious Father! Amen.
