Praise the Lord

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
Psalm 105:1 NIV

It’s good to praise the Lord, to let others know you honor God in your life and proclaim Him as the Lord of lords and King of kings.

When others notice something about you or praise you in any way, point them to the Lord with a statement such as, “God has blessed me with this ability, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to use it for His glory.” This takes the focus off of you and puts it where it belongs—on God.

Praising the Lord takes many forms. You can do it by singing and tithing. Being a part of a local body called the church is another. Praise Him with words but also through your actions, because faith without works is dead (see James 2:20).

When you receive a blessing, rather than just being happy, discipline yourself to immediately thank God. Praising the Father for who He is and thanking Him for all that He does go hand in hand. And gratitude, as it turns out, increases your sense of well-being! It’s a win-win!

You are called to make God’s name known throughout the nations. This starts by praising Him in your own home, workplace, and community. Wherever you are, whatever you do, remember the importance of praising God!

Father, I praise Your holy name. May I always remember to worship You. Amen.
