I will sing to the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Psalm 104:33 NIV
Have you ever noticed a difference among elderly individuals? Some seem depressed. They go through their days focusing on their ailments and woes. Others are bright and happy with cheerful spirits and never a word of complaint. Are the chipper seniors healthier? Have they been spared arthritis, diabetes, heart issues, and digestion troubles? Not at all! The difference lies in a little thing that makes a big difference—the attitude they choose to take!
If you determine to sing to the Lord all the days of your life, as the psalmist did, you will have a hard time listing off all your troubles to everyone who will listen. It’s pretty tough to sing praises to Jesus while whining about what aches.
Happiness is a choice. If you have the joy of the Lord planted deep within your soul, you will be able to shine for Him, regardless of your circumstances. Commit today to praise Him all the days of your life. It will make all the difference in the world!
Heavenly Father, You are so good. You are my provider and my companion. Whether I have plenty or am in need, whether I am among others or on my own, You are my God and I will praise You. Amen.
