Joy in the Journey

All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and truth to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.
Psalm 25:10 NASB

It’s an age-old question: What is God’s will for my life? It’s easy to agonize over this question, pondering which path to take and fearfully wondering what will happen if we take a wrong step. But God’s will is not necessarily a matter of choosing precisely the right step in each and every situation. This verse teaches that we should focus on God’s covenant and His testimony. As we do so, the journey becomes part of the destination.

God doesn’t always give us a clear road map, but He does clearly ask us to keep His covenant and His testimonies. When we do so, our individual steps will become clearer, and we will find ourselves more and more in step with His will. As He guides us closer to our destination, we will find much joy in the journey.

Lord, when I agonize over which way to take, help me to focus on Your covenant and Your testimonies. Help me to trust You to lead me on the paths You want me to take, knowing that when I follow Your Word, I am always in Your will. Amen.
