Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen!
Psalm 41:13 NLT
Praising God in all seasons is a tough thing to do. When circumstances aren’t good, you might be tempted to blame God more than praise Him. And when circumstances are great, you might be tempted to believe you did something right to deserve all of the blessings and favor being showered on you.
What is the truth? God wants you to praise Him in good times and in bad. It’s when you praise Him during the hard times that He increases your faith and helps you to see His goodness in all situations. When you praise Him in the good times, you fully appreciate all that He has done in and through you, only by His grace.
As you focus on abiding in Christ, think of five things you are grateful for today. Write them down in your journal or on a sticky note. Throughout the day, look at your list and praise Him for those things. If you can think of more than five—great! Remember the Giver of grace, and how it’s only by His grace that you have been saved and freed up to praise Him.
Jesus, thank You for everything You have done and given me! Thank You that this life isn’t about my works. It’s all about Your grace. Thank You for Your endless supply of blessings.
