But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.”
Mark 5:36 NLT
“Don’t be afraid and just have faith”—wouldn’t it be nice if your faith walk seemed that easy?
At times, it’s easier said than done, right? Yet as Jesus was healing people, it appeared that the primary ingredient, perhaps the only ingredient, those individuals needed was a dash of faith. That dash was enough to heal, redeem, and restore the lives of individuals who had been suffering for years.
Perhaps all you need today is fearless faith. Not fix-it-yourself, find the strength and faith from within. Just fearless faith in who God is, and says He is, in your life. A fearless, expectant faith that He will heal, redeem, and restore you. Perhaps adopt the psalmist’s attitude: “Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, Who is the help of my countenance, and my God” (Psalm 42:11 AMPC).
Today, as you reflect on these passages, ask God to give you a dash of faith where you need it the most and expect Him to work wonders in your life.
Lord, I want faith that is childlike but can also move mountains! Help me avoid mustering up enough willpower or gumption within myself and instead have faith that is filled with Your divine strength and courage.
