The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.
Psalm 25:14 AMPC
In times of doubt, you may think your ship sailed without you, and you may be tempted to sink into a sea of regret. Instead, consider that perhaps it wasn’t your ship that sailed after all.
How many times has someone literally missed a boat or plane and then it saved his or her life? People missed the Titanic and lived to tell about it. What about those who didn’t go in to work at the Twin Towers or missed their flight on one of the planes that crashed on 9/11?
When you find yourself in a place where you think you have “missed it,” take a moment to look at it from a different perspective. You don’t have to lose your peace over it. Instead, you can embrace the moment with a fresh perspective. With the Holy Spirit as your guide, you can rest in God’s promise to reveal His purpose and plan. “In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28 NIV).
Holy Spirit, lead me in the way I should go. I want to fulfill my purpose. Thank You for revealing Your plans to me.
