Is receiving grace a hard concept for you to accept from God? Often it may be easier to extend grace to another person as opposed to extending it to yourself or receiving grace from another.
You might follow all of the commandments (see Exodus 20:3–17) or sing praises to the Lord (see Psalm 30), but you still feel like something isn’t right between you and God. Could it be that something is holding you captive? Enslaving you to the point where there is a figurative barricade between you and God?
The parable of the workers in the vineyard, found in Matthew 20:1–16, is about God’s grace in your life. Sometimes it doesn’t feel fair when grace is given to others. You might want justice. Yet when the tables are turned, it may be hard for you to receive unmerited favor.
Why some people are given their fair share, others less, and some more doesn’t always seem to make sense. What is clear is that God loves you no matter what! Even when circumstances in your life don’t make sense, abide in Him. As you do, watch the barricade in your life come tumbling down because you are open to the grace He gives.
Lord Jesus, I come to You with the desire to place You first in my life. I choose to receive Your grace and extend it to others.
