Gathering with friends and family can be so much fun, especially when you have something to celebrate. Birthday parties, weddings, and anniversaries are a blast when you’re celebrating with people you love. There’s just something about being together that adds to the excitement.
God loves a good party, especially one that celebrates family togetherness. Just like the good shepherd in today’s verse, He throws a pretty awesome party in heaven whenever a lost child returns to the fold. Celebrating comes naturally to Him, and—since you’re created in His image—to you, too!
Think of all the reasons you have to celebrate. Are you in good health? Have you overcome a tough obstacle? Are you handling your finances without much grief? Doing well at your job? Bonding with friends or family? If so, then throw yourself a party and invite a friend. Better yet, call your friends and neighbors together, as the scripture indicates. Share your praises with people who will truly appreciate all that the Lord is doing in your life. Let the party begin!
Lord, thank You that I’m created in the image of a God who knows how to celebrate. I have so many reasons to rejoice today. Thank You for Your many blessings. And today I especially want to thank You for giving me friends to share my joys and sorrows.
