Become the Vision

Now may the God of peace. . .equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him.
Hebrews 13:20–21 NLT

God, who has known you before He formed you in your mother’s womb (see Jeremiah 1:5), has a calling for you, a purpose for your life. In fact, God is already seeing you as who He created you to be. He has already equipped you and is with you to help you along the way. Remember when God visited Gideon, who considered himself the least of his family and clan? God saw Gideon for who he really was, as expressed in the first words He spoke to him: “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” (Judges 6:12 NKJV). In a poor shepherd boy, God saw the king David was to become. In Abram, who at ninety-nine had only one son, God saw a father of multiple children and changed his name to reflect that fact!

Take some time to look at yourself through God’s eyes. Forget about your doubts, misgivings, and feelings of weakness. God has called you to a specific task and is just waiting for you to take on the mantle He has already fashioned—just for you! It’s a perfect fit. All you need to do is believe and take that first step to become the vision God has of you.

Dear Lord, show me who I am in Your eyes. Then help me become whom You have already made me to be. In Jesus’ name, amen.
