Victory! It’s a word we know well from our high school days when cheerleaders hollered, “V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!” in rousing chorus. Every team wants to win, every business owner wants to succeed, and every married couple wants to thrive. We all want the same thing: victory. But victory over what? An invisible enemy? Financial woes? People who are out to get you? Drugs? Alcohol? Depression? What are you hoping to declare victory over today? Instead of looking at that thing, focus instead on the one who promises victory. If your eyes are on Him, not the problem, your chances of success are increased dramatically. Don’t you love the promise in today’s scripture, that He will go with you? Not only that, He will fight for you! You might be heading into some scary places, but He’s right there, offering comfort and guidance and assuring your success. With your hand in His, victory is surely on its way!
Whew! I don’t like to fight, Father. That’s one reason I’m so grateful that You fight my battles for me. All I have to do is show up, face my enemies with my faith secure, then watch You move on my behalf. How can I ever thank You for all You’ve done? Amen.
