God Doesn’t Rely on Time

He will swallow up death forever, and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces; the rebuke of His people He will take away from all the earth; for the Lord has spoken. And it will be said in that day: “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”
Isaiah 25:8–9 NKJV

The Lord has written the earth’s story and has given us, His children, the manuscript. We were not created for death. Instead, the Lord has set eternity in our hearts. These days the world seems to set a price on our souls. We feel as though there is a great debt measured up against our time and energy, and we simply cannot devote any more of ourselves. But our God doesn’t rely on time; time relies on Him. And the same grace and mercy He showed the Israelites is the same grace and mercy He bestows on us.

We wait for Him in storms, calm, calamity, and confusion; we wait for His return. But He is our God. He can’t be shaken, and though people try and deny the Lord, they are wishful thinkers. No science can equate His power; we can only glimpse what He desires to demonstrate in creation. And yet, this mighty Lord is also the God who wipes away our tears and purges the world of suffering. He is our God.

Lord, help me to wait patiently so that I can remain faithful in these trying times. Thank You that You are God, and no one can change that fact. Amen.
