Turn to Jesus

“What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God?”
Luke 8:28 NIV

The transformation must have been truly astounding. A man went from naked, presumably insane, afraid, most likely speaking gibberish, and living among the dead, to clothed, in his right mind, able and willing to give his eyewitness account of Jesus, and sitting at the feet of the Lord of life. What kind of power can make that happen in the space of several minutes?

It’s the same power that can stop a storm. Make demons beg. Drive a herd of demon-possessed pigs to their death.

Everyone else who had met that man had just given him up for dead. They left him to rot among the tombs. They could not contain him or tame him, and it was easier to let him wander as a stranger than to love him as a brother. But Jesus saw the man he once was, and He loved him.

Jesus sees you, too. If you have let some demon—an addiction, a toxic relationship, a sin you just can’t shake—strip you of your humanity, turn to Jesus. Let Him look at you and love you. Ask Him what He wants to do with you. You may not get back all that you have lost, but you will gain more than you ever had.

God, give me the courage to let You make me into who You designed me to be. Amen.
