You Will Find Success

Master, we toiled all night [exhaustingly] and caught nothing [in our nets]. But on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again].
Luke 5:5 AMPC

You have been working hard all day but nothing has gone right. In fact, you feel as if you wasted an entire eight hours just going through the motions. Fatigued in body, soul, and mind, you start closing up shop. And then you hear Jesus begin to speak, to whisper in your ear. He tells you to go deeper into your task and see what comes up.

At this point, you may tell Him, “Lord, I’ve been working hard all day.” And that’s fine. Jesus wants to know how you are feeling. But the choice you make next is what really counts. Are you going to ignore His request or obey it?

If you choose to ignore His prompting, chances are you are going to miss out on something big. But if you respond as the exhausted fisherman Peter did when he said, “On the ground of Your Word, I will lower the nets [again]” (Luke 5:5 AMPC), you will find success beyond your imagination.

No matter how weary you may be, if you don’t give up, you will find success in whatever God tells you to put your hand to. Just do your duty and leave the results to Him.

Lord, with You directing my moves and me grounded in Your Word, I know I’ll meet with success—in Your time.
