When she had heard of Jesus, [she] came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
Mark 5:27–28 KJV
The woman with the issue of blood suffered for twelve years, and even though she had seen several physicians and spent all her money, she wasn’t any better. She must have felt she was at the end of her rope. Then she heard about Jesus.
Sometimes we’re at the end of our rope. We’ve done all we know to do and it hasn’t solved a thing. We’re so confident we can handle the situation, we have missed the secret this woman discovered. When she heard of Jesus, she made her way to Him. It wasn’t easy. A crowd followed Jesus as He taught and healed people. She had to make her way through the throng of people who jostled and pushed against one another in their eagerness to be near Jesus. They may not have wanted to give way to her, but she pressed in, and when she reached Jesus, she touched His clothes and received healing.
The secret to solving any problem is to touch Jesus. We can’t see Him in the flesh, but we can touch Him through prayer and His Word. Like the woman in this story, we must press through whatever may hinder us. Don’t give up! Touching Jesus is all that matters.
Jesus, give me the determination to press through the crowd until I touch You and receive the answer I need. Amen.
