Quiet Time

“But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.”
Matthew 6:6 NLT

Life is so noisy. Kids squabbling, televisions blaring, horns honking, people talking, coworkers arguing, phones ringing, computers dinging, text messages coming through. . .it can get crazy. Where can a woman go to find peace and quiet? Many have retreated to their bathrooms or even their closets for moments of alone time. Likely, you have your own special spot, meant for getaways. Of course, kiddos are probably beating on the door. In the middle of all the chaos, God longs for us to spend quiet time with Him. He doesn’t care where this takes place, or even if it’s completely silent in that place. All that matters is that you draw near to Him and tune in to hear His still, small voice. What’s keeping you from doing that now? Take a few steps away from the noise and spend a little time with Him.

How wonderful to draw close to You, Lord. I love our times together. Peaceful. Quiet. Sweet. Intimate. Okay, I can still hear the kids beating on the bathroom door, but that doesn’t bother me. I love every precious moment I get to spend with You. I’m so grateful that You woo me into a place with You. Amen.
