Loving your enemies. It’s easier said than done, for sure. Perhaps you read this verse and think, Me? I don’t have any enemies. Then you remember that friend at church who isn’t speaking to you. Or the coworker who snubs you. Or the business partner who went her own way because she didn’t want to link arms with you any longer. Truth is, all women have difficult people in their lives, folks who cause that pit-in-the-stomach feeling. Oh, how we wish all relationships could be easy! Women don’t set out to make enemies, but it happens. God longs for relationships to be restored, for love to flow and for the reward to be great for all involved.
I want to be like You in all things, Lord, even when it comes to loving difficult p. It’s not easy. I’ve learned this firsthand. But I see that the reward—both spiritual and emotional—will be great. Show me day by day how to live this out, I pray. Amen.
