His Love Never Quits

Give thanks to God—he is good and his love never quits. Say, “Save us, Savior God, round us up and get us out of these godless places, so we can give thanks to your holy Name, and bask in your life of praise.”
1 Chronicles 16:34–36 MSG

God’s Word tells us in Psalm 139 that we can never escape the presence of God. He is with us always, no matter where we go or what we do. His love never quits on us. First John 4:10 (NIV) says, “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” God doesn’t love us because we did a lot of good things for Him. He doesn’t love us because of our last names or because of the jobs we do. And He can’t love us any more or any less than He already does. He loves us simply because He is our Father and our Creator. In fact, He gave up His very life to show you how much.

You may have had a parent, friend, or spouse abandon you at some point in your life. God won’t do that. You may feel alone and fearful. God won’t leave you. You may feel sad and crushed. God says He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in Spirit (see Psalm 34:18).

God, please remove me from godless places of darkness and loneliness and fear. I trust that You love me and that You will be with me always. Amen.
