“Everything is possible for one who believes.”
Mark 9:23 NIV
What desires has God placed in your heart? What do you want to accomplish? Are there specific dreams you want to reach? Whom do you want to help? What do you want to do for Christ?
Take an inventory of your “I can’t” statements. “I can’t because ____.” If God has placed it in your heart, He will enable you to do it because it’s His desire. It doesn’t mean it won’t be difficult, but you can accomplish it through Him.
Before I pursued a career as I writer, I used to think, Well, that desire can’t be from God because it’s something I want to do. I somehow got the crazy idea that being a Christ follower meant my desires would never line up with His. But I didn’t know that God has given each of us gifts and talents that are to be used—and we are often passionate about using them!
If God has placed a dream in your heart, if it involves your gifts and talents, if it’s going to help others, if it will glorify Him as you shine in the glory He has given you, then think again. If it’s not sinful, if it doesn’t violate His laws, and if it’s a “I would really like to do that one day” nagging that doesn’t disappear, perhaps it’s God who put the desire in you for His glory.
Lord, show me how to use my gifts and talents to glorify You. Amen.
