Sometimes it seems like every part of our lives is affected by change. From the economy and headline news to friendships and family relationships, nothing ever seems to stay the same. Even our leaders are in a constant state of flux. Every election cycle we see politicians come and go. Generation after generation, monarchs succeed their elders to the throne. Ministers move from one church to the next, and bosses get promotions or transfers.
As a result, these changes can leave us feeling unsteady in the present and uncertain about the future. With more questions than answers, we wonder how these new leaders will handle their roles.
But it’s different in God’s kingdom. He’s the King now, just as He was in the days of Abraham. His reign will continue until the day His Son returns to earth, and then on into eternity. We can rely—absolutely depend on—His unchanging nature. So take comfort in the stability of the King—He’s our leader now and forever! He never changes.
Almighty King, You are my rock. When my world is in turmoil and changes swirl around me, You are my anchor and my center of balance. Thank You for never changing. Amen.
