God Chose You

Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”
Acts 3:6 NKJV

Have you ever been asked to fill a position for which you felt unqualified? Your first thought is to say no. Surely there is someone better qualified than you for the job. Satan doesn’t make your decision any easier. He whispers negative thoughts into your ears. “You can’t do that; you’re not good at it.” “Everyone’s looking at you and thinking what a bad job you’re doing.” “You’re making a mess of this. Let someone else do it.” All of his thoughts are lies, of course. Maybe you aren’t as experienced as the last person who had the job, but God chose you. You may not have the abilities or talents of others, but you have something God can use.

When Peter and John approached the lame man at the gate of the temple, Peter didn’t hesitate to tell him they didn’t have any silver or gold for him. But he had something the man could use. He said, “What I do have I give you.” God is looking for those who are willing to give what they do have. He knew before He called you what you could do, and He also has the ability to qualify you to do whatsoever He requires. Give God whatever You have and allow Him to use it.

Lord, use me and whatever I have for Your glory. Help me to surrender all I have to You willingly.
