They will have no fear of bad news;
their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
Psalm 112:7 NIV
Have you ever waited in a doctor’s office to discuss results of a blood test or biopsy? Waiting is hard, particularly when there’s a good chance you may receive bad news.
The Bible tells us that those who walk with God need not fear bad news. Nothing can touch a believer’s life that has not been filtered through the fingers of a loving God.
God is good—all the time. Not just on the days when the college acceptance letter shows up in your mailbox or the love of your life proposes marriage. He’s just as good on the day that the doctor says the C word or you stand at the graveside of one you cherished.
Scripture does not say you will not face trouble. It does not claim that bad—really bad—things cannot touch your life. What it does promise is that you, Christian sister, will never go it alone. God is at—and on—your side.
Stay true to Him. Put your faith in the One who will hold you tight and walk with you when bad news does come. Trust He knows what’s best for you. He’s got this.
Thank You, God, that I need have no fear of bad news. Amen.
