Out of Your Control

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

You may be struggling. A situation is out of your control. Someone has made a decision that affects you—and you are not very happy about it.

Take heart. Such things happen often throughout life. You thought you were on a particular path, but the plans, circumstances, or parameters changed. And right now you may feel as though God interrupted your life. But here’s the thing: God always has permission to interrupt. And even though you may be having a hard time understanding what it all means, rest assured that you are just on a detour right now—and you cannot detour out of the reach of God’s grace.

So there’s no need to worry—a detour always puts you right back on the path you are supposed to be on!

Your job is just to take this time to relax and enjoy the scenery.

God Almighty, when You interrupt my life with a detour, help me embrace it. I choose to trust You to take care of the details. I let go of the expectations I have for this journey. Help me live in the moment and experience Your grace along the way.

  1. Thank you, this was an on-time word for me. The house I rent is being sold and we’re having such a hard time finding a place, a new place. I pray God’s will every day.
