No Perfect Prayers

“Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise.”
Proverbs 1:23 NLT

Prayer is an exchange, a conversation often uttered in whispers between God and His child. A man named Jonah called to God to deliver him from the belly of a large fish. Many of David’s heart-wrenching prayers are recorded in the book of Psalms. And we cannot forget Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane.

God called to Moses from a burning bush in the desert and gave him the assignment of his life. God whispered to Samuel in the middle of the night while he was just a child, to warn him of things to come in the prophet Eli’s house. And Jesus questioned a Christian-persecuting Saul, who soon became the apostle Paul.

As you build your relationship with God and grow in knowing His voice, you learn to follow His lead. There are no perfect prayers or right ways of talking to God. He is ready and willing to hear your heart and answer the big and small questions in life.

God, thank You for your gentle nudges and whispers of love. Through prayer You provide everything I need for my life. Help me ask the right question, hear Your voice, and live in a way that pleases You.
