Trusting in Trials

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12 NIV

Often, we as believers walk through seasons that are trying and cumbersome. James’ words above extend grace and encouragement to us to live out our faith—even under pressure-filled situations. Because it’s in those moments that faith is tried, tested, and refined.

Have you ever found it challenging to trust God during a trial? Chances are you have. Can you recall how you got through the test? Chances are you have a testimony that was cultivated, that came bubbling over from those pressure-cooker situations. In fact, chances are that one of the key ingredients that got you through was trusting God.

If you’re walking through a trial right now, trust God. Even if you don’t feel it, speak it. Consider saying these words out loud: “Lord Jesus, even though I don’t feel it, I’m choosing to trust You. Even though my heart is heavy, and my soul is weak, I surrender all.”

Lord, may the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to You. By faith, I thank You for blessing me with trials, believing such tests will be used to help me trust You more. I look forward to the testimony You have in store.
