Paul replied, “Short time or long—I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.”
Acts 26:29 NIV
Paul, appearing before King Agrippa, was allowed to give his defense. He explained that he had not broken any laws but was merely following what Jesus had commanded him to do. Agrippa scoffed at Paul and asked if he truly believed that in such a short time he could convince the king to become a Christian.
Paul’s answer should be the same as every Christian’s: “Short time or long—I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am.”
No matter how long it takes, Christ followers should remain prayerful that all would come to know Jesus. They ought never give up preaching the Gospel through action and words. It’s a matter of life and death!
The Holy Spirit is the only one who can open the eyes of the spiritually blind and draw them to salvation. But you, as a believer, play a major role via prayer.
Keep lifting up those you long to see become Christians. If God can turn Saul the persecutor into Paul the apostle, surely He can save anyone!
God, I pray that today You would begin drawing ______ and ______ close as I continue to lift them up to You! Amen.
