Spiritual Heart Health

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10 NIV

Like most women, you probably pay close attention to your health. Perhaps you guard what you eat to keep your cholesterol down or you head to the gym to burn off excess calories. Maybe you hyperfocus on your clothing size or your BMI. Why? To ensure heart health, of course! Many women eat right, work out at the gym, count calories and carbs, and go for annual check-ups, all in the hope of staying on top of things. Kudos to these health-conscious women! How ironic, then, that so many fail to stay on top of their spiritual heart health. If twenty-first century women need anything at all, it’s a healthy heart. Make a commitment today to keep your spiritual arteries open. No blockages! Let nothing hinder your time with God.

I want to have a strong heart, Father, not just physically but spiritually as well. Help me keep those spiritual arteries open so that You can freely flow in my life. When people look at me, I pray they hear Your heartbeat, not mine. I choose this day to honor You by keeping my spiritual arteries wide open. Amen.
