Then the king was exceedingly glad and commanded that Daniel should be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no hurt of any kind was found on him because he believed in (relied on, adhered to, and trusted in) his God.
Daniel 6:23 AMPC
Daniel believed God was with him every moment of his day. He took time for conversations with Him. The spiritual disciplines Daniel practiced throughout his day drew him closer to God and allowed him to hear His instruction. When a decree went out across the land “that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days” (Daniel 6:7 NKJV) be thrown into a lions’ den, Daniel refused to stop the times of prayer that sustained him.
Daniel was found out, and thrown into a den of hungry lions. Supernaturally, God delivered Daniel by shutting the lions’ mouths so they could not harm him.
Life for most moves at a frenzied pace. Last minute interruptions and busy schedules can easily push your time with God completely out of your day. Are you disciplined in prayer? If God can shut the lions’ mouths for Daniel, He can give you the time you need to do what’s important when you give your time to Him in prayer first.
God, You have brought me through some pretty tough situations. Each time my confidence in You grows. Help me value my time with You above all else.
