4 Ways to Renew Your Mind

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Romans 12:2 NLT

We surround ourselves with technology that introduces us to new ideas all the time. No matter what your choice of electronic device, you have the world at your disposal. But sometimes the information isn’t acceptable for Christians. We may not have asked for these bits of information, but they invade our world every day. No matter where we turn, evil is present on all sides. Paul wrote to the Roman church telling them not to be conformed to the world around them, but to allow God to transform them and renew their minds. Can we as twenty-first-century Christians do the same? Yes, we can. Here are 4 ways to renew your mind:

  1. Don’t allow yourself to view or read everything that comes across the screen in front of you. If it appears suggestive or impure, it probably is.
  2. Take time to read your Bible every day. Don’t let the cyber world be your only source of information. Instead, hear what God has to say to you personally.
  3. Ask God to renew your mind and show you what is profitable for you as a Christian.
  4. Don’t accept something just because everyone else does it even if it’s “politically correct.” Transform your life today by the renewing of your mind.

Father, help me not to conform to the world’s ideas, but to be transformed by you. Renew my mind so that I will be able to know Your acceptable will for my life.
