God gives the gift of the single life to some, the gift of the married life to others.
1 Corinthians 7:7 MSG
Maybe you are a happily married woman. You have built a life with your spouse and you love each other as best you can. You enjoy being able to serve God together and share your days.
Maybe you are a single woman. You enjoy your independence and being able to do things on your own schedule. You serve God with your friends and your church family.
No one is better than the other. The married woman has to balance her responsibilities to job, home, spouse, and perhaps children with her service to God. The single woman has to balance her job life, home life, family life, and social life with her life in Christ.
Everyone has different circumstances. Everyone has different gifts.
Do you consider your life a gift? Or do you find yourself wondering if there’s a better life out there somewhere?
Take a good look at your blessings. Those who are married, think of all the ways you are grateful to have a partner with whom to go through life. Those who are single, think of the scope for service that’s available to you.
Be thankful for the gift of where you are now, and show your gratitude in how you live and love and work for God.
Lord of all, thank You for showing me all the ways I am blessed, right now. Amen.
