So the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.
Psalm 78:6 NIV
God’s ways are taught through His children. One generation learns them from the generation before them. And so it goes.
Think about the person who has had the greatest influence on your Christian walk. It may have been your mother or father. Perhaps it was a grandparent or aunt or uncle. Maybe a friend or a teacher, a church member or a pastor filled that role for you. You can likely point to someone as the person who led you to Christ. Perhaps you looked up to several people along the way—those who you knew took their faith seriously, who lived it out before you.
Your responsibility as a Christian woman is to pass on the ways of the Lord to those who come after you. Whether or not you have your own children, you have the opportunity to influence the next generation for Jesus. Consider today how you will begin to do this. If you are already well on your way in doing so, ask God to continue to reveal how you can ensure the next generation knows and follows hard after Him.
Lord, I want to be salt and light to the next generation of believers. Help me be a positive model of what it means to be a Christian woman. Amen.
