Look around [you, Habakkuk, replied the Lord] among the nations and see! And be astonished! Astounded! For I am putting into effect a work in your days [such] that you would not believe it if it were told you.
Habakkuk 1:5 AMPC
Christmas is a season of excitement and expectations. People often look to do good, pay it forward, and surprise one another with kindness. Do you have an expectation for something good happening in your life—not just at Christmastime, but all the time?
Life in Christ is full of the unexpected. God wants to bless you, to demonstrate His goodness. You can trust His plans, for you are full of His favor and love.
Sometimes the difficulties you face can cause you to focus on what’s not going right. But you have a saving God. When things aren’t going the way you’d hoped, look up. Ask Him to help you tune in to Him. Open your eyes to see things from His perspective.
Even though you may not see it yet, God’s at work, orchestrating an outcome that’s so much more than you imagined. He can turn your upside-down world, right side up again. You have a hope like no other. God is up to something good.
God, I know You’re at work in my life. Help me see even the smallest of positive things You’re doing. I give You praise for the good things about to happen even today.
