The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul. . . . Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me.
Psalm 23:1–4 NKJV
You live in a loud world. From the busy rush hour traffic to the constant noise from technology, it’s easy to fill every moment to capacity with the sounds and activities of life. E-mails, social media, texts, and phone calls constantly interrupt the tasks you have to do for yourself and others. It’s easy to become distracted and perhaps too busy for the Lord.
If you are not intentional about spending time with God, before you know it, you have become distant or have detoured away from Him. You find your soul is hungry for His presence and peace.
God is calling you to reconnect. No matter where you are, when you recognize your need for Him, stop whatever you are doing and step away from others. Once you are alone with Him, establish a reconnection. Allow His presence to wash over you and restore your soul.
Lord, my peace comes from You. Forgive me when I become too busy. When life begins to consume me, speak to my heart and draw me to You. Help me disconnect from the busyness of this world and reconnect with Yours.
