Laugh at the Future

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
Proverbs 31:25 NIV

The only way a woman can be clothed in strength and dignity and laugh at the future is to know the One who longs to hold her future in His hands.

The Lord is the only One who can provide the Proverbs 31 promises mentioned. He is the only One who deserves your faith. Trusting in the Lord with all your heart is the only right way to live. So what does that kind of passionate faith look like? It turns your wringing hands into praising hands—not because you naturally rise every morning feeling perky and carefree, but because deep down you choose to believe worry is worthless and praise is priceless.

If you trust in God, He will indeed work all things for your good (see Romans 8:28). You can count on it. As a Christian, you should count on it! That kind of trust—which is so very counter to what the world preaches—releases you from a life without hope. And it gives you the freedom to know joy—even amid earthly sorrrows.

Lord, please lift my head from the mire of my worries so I can have greater faith in You. Let me be clothed in strength and dignity, and let me so trust in You so I can laugh at the future. Amen.
