In the past God spoke to our ancestors at many different times and in many different ways through the prophets. In these last days he has spoken to us through his Son. God made his Son responsible for everything. His Son is the one through whom God made the universe. His Son is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact likeness of God’s being. He holds everything together through his powerful words.
Hebrews 1:1-3 GW
God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit are more trustworthy than anything or anyone you can see, hear, touch, or feel. And Hebrews 1:1-3 tells us it is the power of their words—spoken through God, our forbearers, the prophets, and finally Jesus—that holds everything together.
How amazing is that? The Bible, the book you can hold in your hands, has the words that keep your universe, your world, in place, and can teach you how to live.
Today, consider meditating on God’s words. Reflect upon the instructions found in Proverbs 16:20 (NIV): “Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.”
God will reward and prosper you as you study His words and trust in Him—because through His Word, He’s holding everything together, even the intricate details of your life!
Father, help me to remain in Your Word. As I do, may this increase my trust and awareness of You.
