We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 NIV
Through the traffic-snarled highway home and on the quiet path through peaceful parkland; in the tense, executive office conference and it the chatty cafeteria atmosphere; on the phone with distant relatives or sitting together around a family campfire—God can work in all kinds of places and circumstances for the good of those who love Him.
You may think about God working only when you are sitting in a worship service or reading the Bible. Or maybe you think about Him working only when something good happens—when a prayer is answered, a relationship mended, or a crisis averted.
But God is always at work. He doesn’t take vacation days. He doesn’t ever stop knitting you together and unfolding His grand story. Even at the times when you feel your weakest, when you don’t even know what to pray for and can’t find the words to say, the Spirit helps you and speaks for you. No matter how you feel, where you are, what you are doing, or who you are with—God is working for your good.
God, I want to join You in Your work. Teach me to be a good servant for You. Amen.
