Let Go and Let God

And Moses said to God, Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt? God said, I will surely be with you; and this shall be the sign to you that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain [Horeb, or Sinai].
Exodus 3:11–12 AMPC

When the Jews were slaves in Egypt, Pharaoh ordered all their male children to be murdered. As Moses was just three months old, his mother Jochebed knew she couldn’t hide him anymore, so she did only what she knew to do—she gave him to God, trusting Him to take care of her son (see Exodus 2:3). In her hands, Moses could be found out; but in God’s hands, he became the deliverer of his people.

As Jochebed released the basket that held her baby boy, she didn’t know what would happen. She didn’t know God’s plan, but she trusted God to go with, protect, and keep her baby.

What has God asked you to entrust to Him? He can do a greater work than you can ever imagine, but you have to be willing to let go and let God.

God, I’ve held tightly to some things. You know what they are. Today I release them to you, trusting You to do a greater work than I can ever imagine.
