Just Look Up

The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
James 5:16 NIV

We communicate with others in our cyberspace world at lightning speed—an e-mail, instant message, text messaging—all of these provide quick results. But prayer is even faster than the digital world. We have God’s attention the moment we focus on Him.

The concept of the power of prayer is familiar, but sometimes we forget what it means. Prayer is a powerful tool for communicating with God, an opportunity to commune with the Creator of the universe. So, it is not something to be taken lightly or used infrequently. Yet, in the rush of daily life, we often lose sight of God’s presence. Instead of turning to Him for guidance and comfort, we depend on our own resources.

But prayer isn’t just a way to seek protection and guidance; it’s how we develop a deeper relationship with our heavenly Father. We can access this power anywhere. There’s no need for a wi-fi hotspot or a high-speed modem. We just need to look up. He’s connected and waiting.

Father, thank You for being at my side all the time. Help me to look up to You instantly, in need and in praise. Amen.
