Accepting God’s Love

I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power. . .to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:17–19 NIV

God’s fullness infuses you when you understand how deeply you are loved, to the brim.

What keeps you from accepting God’s love? Perhaps feelings of unworthiness and guilt block your heart. Or the shame of secret sins isolates you. Yet the One who knows you best accepts you the most completely. Christ’s blood was more than sufficient, and you stand before God faultless and beloved. Let go of any thought that you must earn the affection that God pours into you freely.

The fullness of God is like the deep pool at the base of a mountain waterfall, deep enough for you to plunge into, laughing with joy. Immerse yourself in the great incomprehensible mystery of who God is—an all-knowing and all-powerful being who chooses friendship with you. He is enduringly faithful but forgives all of your unfaithfulness. He is God the mighty warrior of the Old Testament and Christ the gentle lamb of the New.

Though God is unfathomable, He delights in revealing Himself to you so that you may be filled to the brim with the fullness of God.

Father God, help me absorb the deep and extravagant love with which You fill me to the brim. Amen.
