Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
1 Peter 5:7 AMP
Because He cares for you. Not because you have to or because it’s the “right” thing to do. Not because it’s what you’re supposed to do. No. Read it again. . . Because He cares for you. That’s right, He cares for you!
Our Father isn’t standing there with His hand on His hip, saying, “All right, spit it out, I don’t have all day,” or worse. . .holding His hands to His ears, saying, “Enough! You have way too many problems.”
The Amplified Bible puts it this way: “Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully” (1 Peter 5:7).
He cares for you. How humbling and emotionally overwhelming it is to realize that our Lord and God, Jesus Christ, actually wants us to unburden our hearts to Him. Not just because He knows that’s what’s best for us but simply because He cares. To know He isn’t just informing us of one more requirement we have to meet. No. He asks each one of us to cast all our cares and anxieties on Him because He cares for us.
Father, I am overjoyed at Your concern for me. Thank You! Please teach me to cast my cares into Your arms. . .and leave them there.
